If you Google search James Kenton in Tennessee, you will read many horrible things that are FALSE. One of these horrible things the local Nashville news media latched onto was the seizure of a piece of land across from Old Hickory Lake in Mount Juliet, TN. The headlines read something like, "Local Tennessee roofer's land/property seized by Metro Police, ect..."
Here's what you need to know about the case against James Kenton: Yes, they did attempt to illegally take this property, but it was quickly returned to the rightful owner! This is only one example of the constitutional violations that unfolded toward James Kenton. Kenton's attorney's filed suit in Wilson County to demand the property back, and the case was resolved with the State and Metro Police losing their attempts to take what was not theirs. Essentially the State was doing exactly what they accused Kenton of; THEFT! James Kenton never defrauded anyone in Tennessee. During the first go-around, Tennessee vs. James Kenton, the State dismissed the fake FRAUD charges against the roofer.
After Kenton filed another lawsuit against the State and Assistant District Attorney Chadwick Jackson, Chad Jackson filed additional charges in retaliation. So, to be clear on this: After James Kenton won the land case, the land was returned to the rightful owner, and the State dropped the criminal case against Kenton. After he was acquitted of the fraud charges laid against him, James Kenton filed a lawsuit against the State of Tennessee and Chadwick Jackson for all the many constitutional and civil rights violations. Then approximately six (6) months after the State lost its motion to dismiss the lawsuit, Chadwick Jackson filed five (5) new felony indictments against Tennessee roofer James Kenton only in RETALIATION!
